Work-Study Program Application

Instructions to apply for Work-Study Program

Fill in the application form either by hand or online.
Gather photos and other documents.
Scan and send by .jpg file to BEST with the deductable application fee of 300 dollars.
We will set up a time for you to phone us for your interview. (Optional)
You will begin to receive phone calls or emails from host families. The au pair and the family choose each other by mutual consent. BEST tries to facilitate this process and is ready to make recommendations regarding suitability, but the final decision is up to you and the host family.
When you have come to agreement with a family, make your transportation arrangements and notify BEST in Madrid.
Send the rest of your application fee to BEST by money order made out to Jill Arcaro. When you arrive in Spain you will be picked up by your host family and contacted by someone from the staff at BEST. If you are placed in Madrid your orientation packet will be waiting for you at the host family's.

Please send the following items to BEST

A passport size photo (smiling!)

Photos of you with your family.

Photos of you with children.

A letter in English saying why you want to go to Spain, your interests and hobbies, experience with children and any special habits you might have (ie. diet). Attach a copy in Spanish (if possible).

2 reference letters (preferably one from a child care referee).

Medical Report (from your family doctor on his letterhead).

Police Report (a document of good conduct saying you have no criminal record for travel purposes).

Photocopy of passport.

Photocopy of any degrees, certificates, diplomas or other qualifications you might have.
