Interns for Local Companies
Ventajas para las empresas
 |
BEST Programs provides the opportunity
for companies throughout Spain and Brussels to host university educated
candidates from foreign countries. For the local businesses, the benefits
of accepting an overseas intern are numerous.
In particular:
The intern will help the staff in a range of administrative
duties. For example, research and marketing, cost and benefit analysis,
Internet and web page assistance, customer and public relations, text
processing, and database entry.
Translation and interpretation.
The selection and referral of the intern to the company has
no cost.
An additional person amongst the staff will cover the absence
of another employee, provide part-time work for special projects,
and alleviate the workload in the department.
Through the promotion of cultural exchange, the overseas intern
may expose the local businesses to new ideas and perspectives.
With a native speaker of other languages on hand, the level
among the personnel will improve.
Accepting foreign interns is a great opportunity to enrich the company
in a cultural exchange. The application and selection process is free.
One hopes that the experience creates a high level of satisfaction
for both the local businesses and the overseas intern. Often ties
are formed between the two parties, which can lead to future collaborations,
commercial contacts, possible employment, etc. |
Program Highlights
Duration of Stay
After receiving the perspective interns application, the two parties
decide on the duration of the internship, ranging from one to three months
similar to a university or business program. Typically, the interns work
four hours per day, five days a week.
Formality
A contract between the student and the business in unnecessary. The nature
of the internship is strictly experiential. In no way is the business
obliged to provide future work for the intern. Therefore, work permits,
social security quotes, and revenue business accounts are not required.
The businesses do not establish an official contracted relationship with
the intern. This is confirmed on a simple agreement signed by the participants.
Insurance
In agreement with the regulations of international exchange, participants
are required to have insurance that suitably covers medical emergencies
such as sickness, an untimely accident, or an unfortunate demise.
Compensation
Businesses that select an intern are not obligated to provide a salary.
However, a compensation or form of scholarly "aide" is optional,
depending on the companys or the interns interests. BEST Programs
advises the companies to consider the possibility of a stipend, especially
if an intern dedicates more than four hours per day. This aid can be based
on lodging, transportation, work clothing, etc.

Most of our candidates are university students or post-graduate native
English speakers. The business internship program is offered to university

Origin
BEST Programs advertises online throughout the United States and
Europe. In addition to the individualized programs, agreements have been
established between BEST Programs and universities in the United
States and Europe.
Requirements for the Applicants
Minimum age of 18 years.
Intermediate Spanish or French levels, depending on the positions.
Native English or an advanced level of spoken and written English.
Optional third language.
Previous educational or professional experience.
Medical Insurance coverage.
Motivation
All of the interns enrol in BEST Programs with the intention to
improve their levels of Spanish or French in a professional setting. Some
candidates want to reintroduce themselves into a professional environment
after a relocation. In addition to this, some applicants are required
to intern in a foreign country to fulfil a graduation requirement. The
interns are driven with the motivation to build their resumes and gain
practical experience in an international arena.
Steps to Request an Intern
1. Let us know how many interns are needed and in what fields of interest. You can request more than one. We recommend that you let us know with advanced notice (about eight weeks before the start of the internship). However, we also accept last minute requests, depending on the availability of a suitable candidate.
2. An appointment will be arranged to meet with the candidate personally, or a telephone interview will be set up. Once the business and the applicant have met, the final decision will be made accordingly. BEST will help to facilitate the process in every way possible. Our communication with the companies is personalized and at some point we will try to send a representative to your company to clarify the program.
3. We provide an Internship Agreement for educational programs and insurance. Request a copy of the Agreement in English here. There is no contract per se and as an educational program these are unpaid internships, though if the company wishes to recompensate the student in some way it is entirely voluntary.
4. The candidate begins the internship in the schedule agreed upon, normally 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, for between 2 and 6 months.
Contact BEST and we will find you the intern which adapts to your
companys needs.
