Brussels
Brussels, backed by over a millennium of old traditions, is the only bilingual
capital in Europe. Flemish (Dutch) and French are the official languages of
this impressive city filled with grand halls, great music, remarkable architecture,
and delicious cuisines.
The cosmopolitan nature of this unique city is projected through the dual languages
spoken on the street and written on the street signs. This liveliness and international
flair is, of course, intimately related to its role as a crossroads for all
of Europe and administrative center of the European Union.
